Warm and caring King's is praised by inspectors
A SCHOOL has been praised by inspectors for its warm and caring atmosphere.
The musical focus of The King's School in Gloucester, which draws some of its intake from the Cheltenham area, was also highlighted as a particular area of achievement.
Inspectors described the school as a place with "a positive attitude to study and high standards of behaviour" by the Independent Schools Inspection team.
The report said: "The pupils reach good and sometimes excellent standards in a wide range of activities, with choral music being a notable area of high achievement and distinguished performance.

"A broad curriculum enriches the pupils' educational experience and enables them to achieve well."
Head teacher, Alistair Macnaughton, said: "The sense of King's as a community is right at the core of the school's aims and it is reassuring the ISI inspection team detected this at the outset.
"With high standards of behaviour, a positive attitude towards learning, a 'can-do' approach to sport and extra-curricular activities and excellent relationships both among themselves and with the staff, the pupils at King's ensure that we do what 'it says on the tin'."
The report further said there was an excellent relationship between parents and the school, and an "open door" policy at management level.
The inspectors praised the "warm, friendly, caring" atmosphere for the early years level, and a willingness of staff to help pupils with their studies outside of timetabled lessons.
