Sam Watts scored for the home team following clever work from Jake Davies and Sam Underwood, but the Magpies were left to rue a number of missed chances in missing out on a semi-final place.

■ Stonehouse III could not match their high flying hosts Longford in Stroud and District Five, going down 4-1 despite heroics from defender Chris Smith and goalkeeper Nigel Sanders.

Liam Beachus earned the man of the match award while veteran defender Mark Painter scored the Magpies' consolation goal from the spot.

■ Ian Neville's Magpies IV team narrowly lost this nine-goal thriller 5-4 in Stroud and District Eight.

A 2-0 lead was thrown away but there were lots of positives overall from a game in which the younger Magpies shone.

Nathan Beachus netted a brace while Shane Holder scored with a superb long range free-kick, but man of the match was the youngest player on the pitch Tom Stainer who celebrated his first ever goal in adult football.
