Website to help young unemployed goes live next week
YOUNGSTERS will receive help to find jobs when a new website goes live next week.
Businesses are being urged to sign up in readiness for the launch of Gloucestershire County Council's www.yes2jobs.co.uk website on Monday.
The idea from the county's civic leaders is to link firms and young people.
It's part of the Grow Gloucestershire campaign to improve the county's economic prospects and help get young people into work.

Already more than 100 organisations, including the county council itself, have confirmed they will be registering the opportunities they have on the site.
Actual chances for work experience, apprenticeships and employment will be posted before www.yes2jobs.co. uk is launched.
There will then be three weeks until the county takes the platform to schools and colleges.
The county's leader Councillor Mark Hawthorne (C, Moreland), said: "Once we start linking opportunities with young people at the end of the month, I am confident this scheme will make a big difference."
In December 2,600 young people were claiming jobseekers' allowance in Gloucestershire.
Andy Barr's Gloucester-based public relations agency 10Yetis has already registered his commitment to the county's campaign.
"We already offer work experience and internship placements," Mr Barr said.
"But being honest, our national profile means we always struggled to find members of the local community to come and take these opportunities."
Mr Barr said he hoped that by signing up to www.yes2jobs.co.uk he can spread awareness of the opportunities he offered.
Maryann Neudegg, from Cheltenham-based solicitors Rickerbys LLP, said she hoped the website would introduce pupils to the possibility of a career in law.
"The county council's investment of £1 million in youth employment is a demonstration of commitment," Ms Neudegg said.
"This initiative is an invaluable commitment by providing opportunities and inspiring the 16-24 year age range to develop skills, Gloucestershire will continue to attract the talent it needs," said Ms Neudegg.
The site goes live on February 11.

“There's never any help for the older unemployed, people like me who have mortgages & endowment policies (not likely to pay off the mortgage either)!”
