WellChild Cotswold Christmas Fair
WellChild's fantastic annual Christmas Shopping Fair in the Cotswolds is being held on 5th and 6th November, 2012 specialising in quality designed pieces from the UK's leading designer and makers. Organised and run by a savvy group of volunteers, all profits are donated to WellChild.
Building on the fabulous success of last year's event, the Christmas Fair will once more take place at Daylesford Farm in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside near Kingham. There will be lots of tempting home-grown organic food on offer in their café to revive busy worn out shoppers and guests will also be able to view their extensive range of glorious hampers.
A range of cutting edge and classic products to tempt every taste from homeware, cashmere, textiles, jewellery, millinery, leather, beautiful children's toys and clothes, gifts and tasty treats will be on offer from more than 100 stands; this is a rare opportunity to meet designers and purchase products direct from the creative source. Selected for quality and variety, the fair will feature some of the best of British design. Delicious home-grown organic food and refreshments will be available from the award-winning Daylesford kitchen.
On Monday 5th November 2012 there is a special preview evening between 6pm and 9.30pm, which includes a glass of wine and choice of delicious canapés - it's a great opportunity to have an evening out with friends in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. WellChild Chief Executive Colin Dyer said: "The Christmas Fair is a great event for WellChild and it has become a key event in the Cotswold social calendar which hundreds of people look forward to. We greatly appreciate the support and dedication of Lucy and her team of organizers as well as all the people in Gloucestershire who come along and have a great day whilst raising money to help seriously ill children."
WellChild helps sick children and their families throughout the UK as they deal with the consequences of serious illness and complex conditions by focusing on three key areas - care, support and research.
The charity provides a team of WellChild Children's Nurses who work with families to ensure that children with complex care needs can leave hospital and return home and, through its Helping Hands scheme, WellChild enlists the support of volunteers to tackle practical projects in the homes of sick children. In addition, the charity has invested more than £20 million in ground-breaking children's health research projects.
Although WellChild's work to support seriously ill children and young people takes place right across the UK, many of its activities and fundraising events take place in and around the Gloucestershire area due to the charity's base being right in the heart of Cheltenham.
