A baby vulture is the latest star attraction at Newent’s International Centre for Birds of Prey.

The Eurasian Griffon vulture is just a few weeks old.

Centre director Jemima Parry-Jones said: “Eurasian Griffon vultures are some of the really big vultures and the four that I have were all injured wild birds that came from a rehabilitation centre in Spain.

“But they need space as these birds are all non-releasable.

“The young bird is one we hope to train.”

The centre aims to protect and preserve birds of prey through the public education, captive breeding, and treatment and rehabilitation of wild injured birds.

It is open to the public for 10 months each year.
