Williams and Compton power on in race for club championship

ADRIAN Williams cruised to a sub-60 minute clocking at the Oldbury Power Station ten-mile race to cement his position at the top of the club road race championships.

Trudy Compton is now also in a good position for the club title after taking maximum points at Oldbury.

Richard Hurdle was in sparkling form as he revised his personal best by more than four minutes at the English Half Marathon in Warrington.

He finished 31st in a time of one hour, 25 minutes and eight seconds. David Moss dipped under two hours over the 13 miles as he took part in the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields, finishing in 1:56.47.

And in the Swindon Parkrun, David Wright finished third and first V55, with Tony Shelbourn also taking age group honours in the V65 class.

Caroline Crawford excelled over the half ironman distance in the Challenge Henley Half, finishing 17th lady in 5:15.45.

And in the London Duathlon, Chris Goldie took on the challenge of the 10km run, 40km bike and 5km run format, finishing in 3:21.19.
