Sommers then shot straight at the keeper as Cinderford pressed, before flicking on a Matt Barnes cross to Wilson whose shot was blocked.
Dave Bird brought a save from Cross, then Evesham enjoyed a spell of possession without being able to break down a determined, resolute home defence.
Leigh Downing saw his shot flash inches past a Cinderford post while poor finishing from Henry Eze and Marcus Palmer hampered Evesham's search for an equaliser.
Lee Smith and Wilson could well have extended Cinderford's lead before the break.
Evesham struck back on 48 minutes with a superb Simon Fitter free-kick, then the same player stunned home fans by spotting Alex Harris off his line and chipping the goalkeeper from the halfway line to make it 2-1.
From a Cinderford corner, Barnes picked out Bird whose header was cleared off the line.
Cinderford were level on 67 minutes when Alex Evans nodded home Bird's cross.
Wilson then set up Barnes who narrowly missed the target before with two minutes left Cinderford grabbed the winner.
Evans produced a fine through-ball and Wilson accelerated into the box before beating the advancing Cross.
