BISHOP'S Cleeve boss Paul Collicutt and his squad will approach another hectic week of fixtures in buoyant mood following Saturday's 3-1 win against AFC Hayes.

The Villagers travel to The Causeway this evening, welcome VT FC to Kayte Lane on Thursday evening before rounding off the week with a trip to Uxbridge on Saturday.

With his already weary squad having to face up to another exhausting week, Collicutt was delighted to have started with a win.

"When you win everyone in the squad is buzzing and ready to play another game," said Collicutt.

"It can be a different story when you lose, so it was an ideal way to start the week."

The 3-1 win, secured by an early Richard Mansell strike and goals from ex-Cinderford men Mikey Davis and Ben Gascoyne, was Cleeve's first competitive victory against the side from the London suburbs.

But despite the relief of victory against one of their bogey sides, Collicutt was not content with the performance.

"We didn't actually play all that well and could certainly have been better, but the main thing was to get the win," he said.

"The stats showed that we had 28 shots to their four, but when they brought it back to 2-1 I thought they could smack us in the face.

"But we closed it out and it sets us up nicely for the game at Cinderford."

With two games to prepare for this week, Collicutt is preparing to juggle his squad in order to keep his players as fresh as possible.

Collicutt is almost at the stage where he is picking two squads, one for tonight's game and one for Thursday.

One welcome addition to both of those lists is striker Kevin Slack, who returned as a late substitute on Saturday three months after dislocating his hip.

"We'll juggle the squad and err on the side of caution if anyone is carrying a knock with Thursday's game in our thoughts," said Collicutt.

"We have to be careful with Kevin as it was a bad injury, he played for five minutes on Saturday and we may now be able to up that to 10."
