Woman cut free after car flips near Taynton

A woman was trapped after her car flipped upside down near Taynton yesterday.

Firefighters cut her free after she was given trauma care while still inside the vehicle.

It happened on the B4216 between Newent and Taynton at about 6.45pm.

A fire and rescue service spokesman said: "At 6.46pm March 10, fire control received a call from colleagues in the police requesting their attendance to a one vehicle road traffic collision, with the occupier trapped in the vehicle.

"One Appliance from Newent Station and One appliance from Gloucester North, along with the Specialist Incident Support Unit were mobilised with a total of 13 firefighters.

"On arrival crews found one vehicle upside down in the road. One adult female was administered immediate trauma care prior to being cut free from her vehicle and handed over to paramedics on scene.

"Crews were in attendance for a total of one hour and ten minutes."
