“Elmbridge Road does have cycle lanes but they are unusable due to cars and vans parking on them. Cyclists either circuit round them or use the pavements.”

“This is a thug not a cyclist but hey it'll give the cycle bashing people something to talk about.”

“"Police are asking the public to help identify a man[ONE WEEK LATE!] on a bicycle after a pedestrian was struck by a cyclist in Gloucester."

They make it sound like she was just accidentally 'struck' - and this happened a week ago, why take so long to report it?

It's rather frustrating, to say the least, but the police more than likely know who this savage is.”

“Presumably she wasn't walking along the road but was on the pavement which must mean that the cyclist would have been on it too and obviously thought that she was in his way like a lot of them do. If he had been cycling along the road and managed to kick or knock her he would need fairly long legs or arms to be able to actually knock her over. As he had an English accent (whatever that is these days) then he must have said something to her, probably "Get out of the way".

Cyclists on pavements are a menace. I was walking quite correctly along a fairly narrow pavement in Quedgeley when I heard an unusual noise - a bicycle bell - and turned to see a couple of people teetering on their bikes just behind me. As they expected me to get out of their way I did the opposite and didn't move over so they had to reluctantly ride onto the cycle lane to get round me but carried on along the pavement as soon as they were past. Let's just hope that one day all cyclists will ride on the roads and not the pavements but I won't be holding my breath.”

“This sounds more like a thug on a bike, rather than a cyclist. I hope the young lady is okay.”
