Mark Yates to invite official to train with Cheltenham Town
MARK Yates is hoping to welcome a referee to Cheltenham Town's training ground next week after what he regards as a series of "baffling" decisions that have gone against his team this season.
The Robins boss was left particularly bewildered by the officials' performance in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Bradford City and he has since contacted referees' association chief David Allinson.
"I'd love to sit down with a referee and watch the recording of a game," Yates said.
"We all see things differently and everyone has an opinion, but I'd like to understand things from their point of view.

"I would love to have shown the video from Saturday's game and see if they are still adamant we shouldn't have had a second penalty just before Bradford equalised."
Yates has been poring through the recording of the Bradford match and it has only made him more disappointed with referee Brendan Malone's performance.
As well as believing Jermaine McGlashan should have been awarded a second spot kick in the first half, he feels Bradford striker Nahki Wells was fortunate still to be on the pitch to score two of his side's goals.
He appeared to dive in the penalty area under a challenge from Russ Penn, which Yates believes should have resulted in a yellow card if it was not deemed a foul.
Wells was also guilty of catching Marlon Pack and Scott Brown with late challenges.
"If I could talk through a match with a referee, at least I'd know where they were coming from," Yates said.
"I would like to get their perspective and I always try not to criticise referees.
"I am competitive but not abusive competitive on the touch line.
"If we get a clearer understanding that's all we are trying to get out of this and hopefully it can help the referees as much as it helps us."
