Yo!Sushi opens its doors in Cheltenham
JAPANESE restaurant chain YO! Sushi opened its doors for the first time in Cheltenham yesterday, welcoming in hundreds of seafood lovers.
The sushi craze finally arrived in the town, which is now home to two restaurants with the delicacy on their menus.
The 65-seat restaurant is based in the Promenade at the former Pizza Hut unit and has created more than 30 new jobs.
The restaurant serves sushi in the Japanese style, with a diverse range of dishes, which customers can hand pick from a conveyor rolling round the restaurant.

"It's made Cheltenham more cosmopolitan."
Queuing outside the restaurant yesterday, 42-year-old Zoe Batty, from Battledown, and 65-year-old Ros Payne, from Pittville, were excited by the opening.
Zoe said: "I think it puts Cheltenham on the map. I don't know many places near Cheltenham that have a YO! Sushi. It's very exciting."
Ros added: "I will eat anything. I've only bought sushi from the supermarket, but this will be much fresher."
More than 80 dishes are offered by the sushi bar.
Although sushi is at the heart of the concept, there is a choice of Japanese inspired items.
It's menu includes Japanese soups, rice or noodle-based dishes, salads, tempura and hot classics like bestsellers Chicken Katsu Curry, Salmon Teriyaki and Yakisoba noodles.
There are also vegetarian choices for its customers.
Customer Josh Kinnersley, a 25-year-old events manager from Cheltenham, said: "I think it has a very good vegetarian selection. I had the pumpkin korroke."
Robin Rowland, CEO from YO! Sushi said: "We are thrilled to become part of this community and look forward to welcoming the local residents into our new restaurant, as well as serving up our unique blend of fun and fresh Japanese inspired cuisine, excellent service and cutting-edge restaurant design to the people of Cheltenham."
