Gloucester's A Squad stretched their recent unbeaten run to four games after conjuring up a late equaliser at Swindon.

The visitors were very much the better side before the break, Mace capitalising on Cronin's fine pass to fire them ahead on seven minutes.

Gloucester went close on several more occasions in the first period, most notably when Basford's effort struck the bar, but within two minutes of the restart Swindon were level, Gardner-Medwin saved Paines' first effort but Johnson followed up to net the leveller.

The hosts now seized the initiative and city keeper Gardner-Medwin produced two more fine saves while Kyffin, Gilkes and Rigby Mitchell at the heart of the Gloucester defence found themselves in almost constant action.

With four minutes remaining Payne headed home Morgan's right wing cross to seemingly hand Swindon the points, but Douce and Mace combined to release Cronin who finished well to earn the visitors a draw.

Gloucester: Gardner-Medwin; Webb, Gilkes, Rigby Mitchell, Kyffin, Collins; Basford, Douce, Mace; Drewett, Cronin.

Gloucester B 2 Bristol 2

GLOUCESTER's B Squad deservedly earned a share of the County Shield with a fine result against visitors Bristol.

Tyndall fired the hosts ahead with barely a minute on the clock and twice more, along with King, went close to extending the city team's advantage before the break.

Within five minutes of the restart, however, Nelson levelled for the visitors, though Priday's deflected effort restored Gloucester's advantage just two minutes later.

A great save from home keeper Morrissey kept the hosts ahead, but Phillips struck for Bristol with ten minutes remaining to equalise once more.

Gloucester almost conjured up a winner in the closing stages, Priday capitalising on Lawrence's set up only to be denied by the keeper.

Gloucester B: Morrissey; Baron, Stubbs, Lawrence; Hatcher, Tyndall, Harris, King, Williams; Hopkins, Martin. Subs: Priday, McKenzie
