With four such events taking place at the same time around the country, the school was in effect into the last 16 nationally.

The first round saw St Peter's drawn against the number two seeded team, Bournemouth Collegiate, a private school linked to the Lawn Tennis Association's High Performance Centre in Dorset. Charlie Chapman, Oliver Palmer, Rhodri Atkinson and James Holden represented the Gloucester school and the boys knew it would be a tough contest.

This resulted in only Palmer and Atkinson winning their singles matches.

By the time all the singles and doubles were completed, it was three matches apiece, and after a quick team discussion, Palmer and Atkinson stepped on to the court.

Palmer and Atkinson took an early lead against an opposition partially represented by Team GB, with some superb net play. Palmer and Atkinson stretched the lead and won 10-4, putting them into the last eight.

Millfield School from Somerset awaited St Peter's in the last eight, the Somerset school sported two top five national players.

The Under-13 boys' tennis team gave a good account for the school, but narrowly lost out to Millfield School, with only Atkinson winning his singles match.
