CS Reds U-10s 2 Churchdown Whites U-10s 1

A FIVE-week break saw the Reds return to action with two fine 2-1 victories.

In the first game, the Reds went at the Whites from the off and there was some impressive play from both sides before the Reds went 1-0 up after some good work from Kian Gardner who crossed for Carter Lewis to slot home.

Gardner was again instrumental in setting up the second when he picked up the ball in the centre and threaded a great ball through for Oscar Garwood to smash home into the top right hand corner.

Churchdown grabbed a consolation goal on the final whistle.

CS Reds U-10s 2 Southside Sharks U10s 1

AS EXPECTED the Sharks attacked straight from the kick-off.

But some great defending in the area from Dan Gwillom and Jordan Pearce and great battling in the middle of the park from Harvey White, Kian Gardner and Dan Withers kept them at bay.

The Reds took the lead when Withers' throw-in was hammered home by Carter Lewis.

Southside Sharks attacked again and Reds keeper Lee Godwin pulled off some unbelievable saves, but he eventually beaten.

The Reds dug in and reorganised, moving Jordan Pearce out from defence to move him up front.

This worked a treat as Pearce picked up the ball from the right after a Southside player tried to clear his area.

Pearce dummied past a defender and hit a fine strike that flew past the Sharks goalkeeper and defence and into the top corner of the net.

Thanks to superb defending from Charlie Garwood and strong play from keeper Godwin, the Reds held on to win the game 2-1.
