November is comedy month at the Sub Rooms!
“ Four great nights of comedy coming up at the Subs in November! Starting on the 4th we have Lenny Henry with his new show Pop Life! - a hilarious joyride through his life in music (he even plays the piano - you have been warned!). Then we have our new regular comedy club Laughing Boy Comedy on the 8th. This month the North East's Gavin Webster and the South East's Sara Pascoe are joined by a mystery guest! Jim Davidson joins us on the 22nd with his strictly adults only show and the month's laughs are rounded off by Jo Caulfield and her "Better the devil You Know" show on 25th. Tickets are available from the Box Office (in the Tourist Information Centre) or online at www.subscriptionrooms.org.uk ”

Bigger on the inside...
“The size and location of the Subs can mislead, and they actually put on some fantastic gigs there. In recent years, I've seen The Levellers, Easy Star Allstars, Show of Hands and many more perform on stage. The only thing I'd like to see is more regular gigs. Unfortunately, they are rare and then they do go ahead, they put too much strain on the venue's badly-designed bar.”
