A blast of icy temperatures
THE mercury is set to plummet this week but forecasters reckon the county should be largely safe from heavy snow.
A widespread smattering of the white stuff is being predicted elsewhere in the UK.
Met Office experts reckon temperatures will dip to -3C by 9pm tonight, although it will feel more like -10C with wind chill.
Thermometers won't climb above 0C again until Wednesday and even then it is only expected to get up to about 5C.
