Last chance to grab free trees
TEN days are left for residents and community groups to claim free trees in Gloucester.
The city council is renewing its giveaway of trees to help boost the city's green credentials.
Private gardens can have up to five trees while community groups can get more.
The council is handing out birch, wild pear, ash and blackthorn among others in the sixth year of the initiative. It is aimed at helping combat climate change, increasing habitat and because they improve the look of the city.

“That's mountain ash, i.e. rowan, not ash (which is all going to die because of chalara fungus).”
