All change with Robins squad numbers
IT'S all change at the Abbey Business Stadium as Cheltenham Town confirm their shirt numbers for the 2009/10 season.
Only substitute goalkeeper Will Puddy retains the same number for the new campaign as manager Martin Allen shuffles his pack.

David Hutton will wear the Cheltenham Town number 10 shirt in the new season
Former club captain John Finnigan, loses the number eight shirt that he has worn for the majority of his Robins career, reverting to squad number 16.
Second year scholar Ryan Keen, who has never been named in the first team squad, is even ranked higher than the veteran of 262 appearances for the club.
Young wing wizard Marley Watkins claims the number seven shirt from Josh Low, who like Finnigan remains on the list for a free transfer.
New signings Justin Richards and David Hutton take the number nine and ten shirts respectively.
Scott Brown takes the number one shirt after cementing his place in the team last season following the departure of Shane Higgs.
In total 20 players have been awarded squad numbers for the new season.
They include five players, Kyle Haynes, Ryan Keen, Theo Lewis, Jake Lee and Josh Emery, who are in the second year of scholarship deals and are yet to turn professional.
Last season, a whopping 51 different squad numbers were utilised by the Robins.

“I think MA has been very shortsighted in his attitude to Finners. I bet he has to turn to his skills and brains before the season is halfway through. Good luck Finners even with 16 on your back. It's not the number on your shirt but the player inside it.”

“Charlie from Cleeve. I was at Leeds when Watkins 'danced' his way round £1m+ defenders to set up a goal which should never have been disallowed. I also saw him on his home debut when he skinned the defense and created the first goal. What you have to remember is that these youth players came in last season to a side that was constantly on the back foot, unsettled and with extremely low morale. It shouldn't be like that now. League 2 is not all about dinosaur long-ball football. We have skills to work on, and if the side gets momentum (which it only did last season when the kids were given a chance) things can only get better.
In my opinion, your attitude encapsulates everything that is wrong with the British attitude to football and development of players.
People don't want to pay good money to watch 90 minutes of grinding out a result through hoofing the ball up the park. They want to see skills and entertainment.”

“You think that Chelt's squad list is small? Just read that Darlington have signed 10 players!! They only had 2 players left from last season after going into Administration.”

“the squad is shaping up nicely and the likes of marley watkins and david hutton are going to seriously damage some league two defences but we need to get paul connor on board even if its in a new position because he is quality are swindon still having trouble offloading simon cox we should make him a target even if its on loan”

“as a supporter who watched every game bar 2 last season i feel i can confidently put my point of view that the youth will get us absoulutely no where, not wise enough, not man enough and not good enough YET,to play more than sub appearences fans who think marley watkins will dance his way past seasoned pros in this division are in denial ..”
