Jimmy Savile sex assault probe in Gloucestershire
TWO women have told Gloucestershire police they were sexually assaulted by Jimmy Savile.
One assault is alleged to have taken place in the county, while the other was reported yesterday by a local resident who said she was assaulted elsewhere.
-

COMPLAINTS: Jimmy Savile.
The force said both incidents were "historic" and happened years ago.
They follow sex abuse allegations emerging against the late Savile, which shattered his friend from Churchdown, George Ridgeon. The paralysed firefighter drew strength from the shamed DJ when he was a Stoke Mandeville hospital patient but he had no inkling that Savile was assaulting youngsters.

Claims made about the BBC star on an ITV documentary mean police are investigating allegations Savile sexually assaulted children and adults at care homes, hospitals and on BBC premises.
A Gloucestershire police spokeswoman said the force received one complaint on October 4 about an offence alleged to have happened in the county. The victim lived in Gloucestershire then but now lives elsewhere.
The second complaint was made by a current Gloucestershire resident who told police an incident took place elsewhere.
The force spokeswoman said: "Two complaints have been made to Gloucestershire Constabulary, and we have passed them on to the Metropolitan Police who are conducting the investigation."
The BBC and other bodies could be sued by victims if it can be shown they were negligent.
Former High Court judge Dame Janet Smith will lead the BBC's internal inquiry into the claims. There is also a Department of Health inquiry into Savile's conduct at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Broadmoor and Leeds General Infirmary.

“raidermanuk.....................there are times when to be serious, and this is one of them.
If you were offended by the joke from loudmouth Frankie Boyle about Katie Price's disabled son, then you should be offended by any references to humour on this page.
Savile was as bad as they get. He WILL go down in history as one of the worse, along with the Wests.”

“The comments on this thread are perhaps a reflection of why he was able to get away with it all that time.
Some people have an attitude that he raised a lot of money, so he must be good; turn a blind eye; don't speak ill of the dead; his family have suffered enough;innocent until proven guilty (i think he has been proved so).
This is what victims have to contend with, and this is the attitude some of society has-which allows paedophiles to go on.
Paedophiles should be ostricised from society, not sympathised with. If it was your child...”

“TimMessanger abuse like bullying is a horrible thing to live with and it is not a joke, a lot of people as well as myself feel maybe you are a little immature and do not understand the pain that it inflicts on not only the victim but for those care for them. maybe your silly immature comments are aimed at the press however put yourself in any vulnerable persons life and any comment brings about more hurt and pain no matter if was not intended that way. also shame and self loathing because victims very often blame their selves ,please if you cannot think of anything sensible to say then say nothing and stop trying make yourself clever by using latin .”

“@zalapompadoo - The comment was a joke at the expense of the press and their thirst for scandal and when a person is dead you can print just about anything about them, you then get the politicians relentlessly bringing up the story to deflect from the fact that their policies are failing!

“Liz Dux, a personal injury lawyer has been contacted by several woman who want to sue over the Savile allegations.
She is preparing cases against the BBC and Stoke Mandeville hospital.
What sickens me is that there WILL be people that have NOT been abused that will be jumping on the band wagon to claim.
WE will as always be paying any compensation and Liz Dux's ridiculous legal charges!
Nothing has yet been proven and still the legal vultures are circling the carrion of another dead personality!”

“eyeopener i agree with you ,TimMessanger nasty and rather childish comment there are many abuse victims not just from jimmy saville who have lived with the this abuse for most of their lives it must be like a concrete weight around your neck i went to school with a girl who we found out many years later had been abused by her family members she ended her life as she could not cope with the shame. maybe TimMessanger you should grow up or keep your silly mouth closed until you know what you are talking about, this is horriable and will sadly bring about a lot of mistrust”

“It's A Terrible Shame This Has Happened & That Somebody With So Much Trust Bestowed To Them Would Do This To The Innocent,Albeit Innocent Until Proven Guilty Its Certainly Not Looking Good For Him. Not Forgetting His Family Too,How Awful For Them. :0(”

“@TimMessanger "This 80's telly star scandal is getting worse - turns out morph was a Playdophile!"
Do you think many of his victims will be laughing?
I initially thought the same as valhalla2010 and CTFCScout however when the police state that there were 200 potential victims you have to ask yourself "can they ALL be lying?"
As MissyMadDog says "some of them did speak out years ago but were not believed and others who worked in places where it occurred turned a blind eye." He traded on that, and thats how he got away with it.
Charities that deal with the abused report that the psychological damage done by such abuse is usually life long, and that its not unusual for victims to find it difficult to form relationships, commit self harm and on occasions suicide.
Do you still think "morph was a Playdophile!" is funny?”
