“No more Parties. All MPs to be independent but allowed to side with others without prejudice on issues to be voted on in the new commons.
They will all work outside London in a new building(s) suitable for the modern world.
A non aligned regulatory board would oversee their conduct and set pay levels and pensions.
They would all work for us and lobbying would be allowed on a rationed basis.
Parliamentary Privileges would be moved closer to reality and some of them would be dumped.
Housing,Accommodation and Transport Costs would be based on prices in,say,Gwent.
Wrongdoing of a serious nature to result in dismissal with no settlement handout.
Waste would be recognised as the enemy of prosperity along with taxes that always hit the least affluent of the electorate.
I propose this as a start point to achieve a parliament where we the voters are the peers and if we lose a little democracy but gain a little freedom then so be it.”

“Leorche, definitely. Party politics isn't constructive, 9 times out of 10 opposition parties disagree with ruling parties just because they feel it's their job, not because theyve got any better answers. The simple fact is that (apart from the footie team type political supporter) no one agrees with everything the party they vote for "stands for" 100percent and the system as it is means you have to put up with it.

Add to this the instability of potentially having a political volte face every 4-5 years means that a when a politician talks about the "long term" they are never normally talking about beyond the next election. No wonder things like the NHS and education, public services etc are supposedly screwed in the UK, with every new party in power they get a series of "new" 5 year plans often completely contradicting the aims of the last one!

If we can't vote to change this nonsense then maybe we need to go Belgium for a while? They managed 500+ days WITHOUT their central government just fine (until the EU and financially interested parties stuck their oar in).”
