In terms of sustainable populations, our internal land and other resources would support a population of under 17million, not the 61M we have at present or the 70+M anticipated in the coming decade. Message for immigrants living in the UK....I am not racist, but I have a huge problem with what the Government has allowed to happen in this country.

where a study last year by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) suggested that one in 12 UK nationals may now be living abroad!

There are also 250,000 second homes owned by British nationals in France alone!!!!!!

I did my Masters here and paid 3 times the fees as an Asian student. Offenders from ethnic minorities are more likely than their white counterparts to be sentenced to prison for certain categories of crimes, according to an analysis of more than one million court records.

The study, carried out by the Guardian, found black offenders were 44% more likely than white offenders to be sentenced to prison for driving offences, 38% more likely to be imprisoned for public disorder or possession of a weapon and 27% more likely for drugs possession.

Asian offenders were 41% more likely to be sent to prison for drugs offences than their white counterparts and 19% more likely to go to jail for shoplifting.

The findings, which accord with a history of academic research into disparities, suggest wider variations in sentencing than in some previous studies and also show variation between courts.

Islamophobia rampant in Europe's schoolbooks, European study finds


European schoolbooks present a distorted image of Islam and Muslims using stereotypes, a five-country study published on Sept 15 revealed showed.

This slanted view reflects "cultural racism," concluded Germany's Georg Eckert Institute for textbook research, which analysed 27 volumes used in classrooms in Britain, France, Austria, Spain and Germany. The report was the first of its kind in Europe. "Islam is always presented as an outdated system of rules which has not changed since its golden age," Susan Krohnert-Othman, said the institute's project director.

The researchers said that Islam is presented as a ****genous entity without reflecting its diversity in different parts of the world. The report did not find major differences between the five countries studied. The textbooks used at the secondary school level frequently depicted conflict between "antiquated Islam" against a "modern Europe".

"Even modern European school books include oversimplified presentations of Islam and they stand in the way of a credible intercultural dialogue with the Muslim world," said Germany's minister of state for European affairs at the foreign ministry, Cornelia Pieper, after reading the study's findings.

“I watched a documentary a while back, and it was about immigrants who come over here and 'take our work' and British people were getting most upset about it, until it came to the part when they themselves had to do the work instead! First of all, I want to make clear I am not a native, but I think I have lived here enough to give my opinion about inmigration.

I come from Spain, and unlike many spaniards, I had my job in my country but moved here because of my gf, who s brits.

Reading all your comments have brought me nice memories. All of you, the way you dislike inmigrants and blame goverments for being so indulgent, remind me the same as Spain used to be before the crisis.

During the great economical growth, I remember over a million of inmigrants (from South America, many countries of Africa, Romanians, Polish and Bulgarians) moved in Spain looking for jobs, security and a NORMAL LIFE.

I still remember having the same conversation with people about the inmigrants we receive, TAKING OUR JOBS, TAKING OUR SOCIAL BENEFITS and blablablablab. All of us were racist inside, but of course not outside (like most of u).

Now things have turned around. I dont feel proud of my country, indeed, I am sure most inmigrants don´t do it. I wish none of u have to move out, because is hard...really tough new life (no friends, no family near to u, new culture, new language, etc)

I met many Spaniards in England, and all of them (like me) are in between jobs and seeking desperatedly for the same thing as Brits or any other inmigrants want. Some of them tried extremely hard in Spain to find a job, but was impossible because our nice 26% unemployement rate (in Britain is 8% so dont complain). Many of them had to move out or dying from hunger.

Now I ask u, is it right closing the borders from inmigrants who are starving and want to have a normal life, like u have? what makes u have more rights than them? If the concept of countries wouldn´t exist, wars would never take place. We live nowadays in a globalize world, in which we are not citizens of our countries, but we are citizens of the world.

The only way u could understand what I mean, is having the same situation as Spain has, then u would accept better inmigrants. However I hope that moment will never come.

Inmigration does and doesn´improve the economical prospects. On the one hand it does because there s a rising of cosumers, but on the other hand it doesn´t improve the economy because many of them (specially polish) come here to apply for social benefits and make the governement pays for infrastructre such as hospitals, police, and so on.

I know u feel invaded, but believe me it´s better have inmigrants in ur country that not, but it means the country´s political and economical situation s good.
