“What were the circumstances of the attack? Most dogs will attack cats, given the chance. It's important that dogs aren't given the chance of attacking kittens - maybe that's a bit obvious, but I once took on a 12-month-old collie cross who had been rejected at the age of 6 months for, among other things, killing an entire litter of kittens; he was a sweet-natured dog, who was very amenable and easy to look after, and I came to the decision that his previous owners were idiots (who had kicked and starved him, BTW) and were at fault for allowing their dog to have access to a litter of kittens.”

“hello, yes i agree with your view on the subject, but just to clarify . this was a case of a chap in his front garden with his kids enjoying the sun, owner of the dog was walking passed with his dog not on a lead! pointed out to his dog theres a cat!! and the dog just shot after the cat that was by its owner infront of his kids, i can understand the point your making regarding your collie but this was just purely down to the so called dog owner basically telling it what to do! some people just shouldnt have animals! if the dog is liable to run off put it on a lead! its not rocket science but sadly the law just seems to be ignored, if the owner of the dog said sorry it would be one thing but he just grabbed his dog after the attack it ran of down the road! sickening.”

“That's really awful. Firstly, the dog's owner was legally obliged to have it on a lead on the public highway. Secondly, the dog was allowed to enter private property and encouraged to attack a cat. Thirdly, the owner than scarpered with the dog. There are definitely a number of crimes there, plus some civil offences.
I hope that this family reported the attack to the police. If they advertise in the area, it is likely that someone will know who the scumbag is. He was probably walking his dog not far from his home. People like that give dog owners a bad name.”
“having just seen the aftermath of yet another staff type dog tragically attacking a small kitten isnt it about time the law was enforced regarding keeping your dog or dogs on a lead!
this time the owners children were present! and both of them being under 5 i should image the trama will haunt them for years,
any views on the subject good or bad?”
