Top dog Ren made of the write stuff
RESCUED dog Ren curbed his excitement just enough for his illustrator owner Hannah Shaw to collect a top cup on his behalf.
Very enthusiastic Ren, aged about nine, won the best in show when artist and author Hannah, 30, took him along to her local, the Crown and Sceptre, for its pub pooches' competition.

"We've had Ren about eight years. He was a rescue, from the RSPCA in Stroud," said Hannah who's married to Ben Prothero and expecting their first baby in December..
"Ren is very good, very enthusiastic. We do some dog agility which is something of a hobby for me," Hannah said.
"When we got him he was called Ben so we had to change his name."
At the Crown and Sceptre dog show Hannah said Ren "just looked handsome" and won.
"It was a really fun day. Everyone really enjoyed it. Very funny. A great laugh," said Hannah who's currently writing her first fiction book for older children Stan Stinky.
