Tewkesbury is launching the festive shopping season with a Continental theme by dishing up Italian food, drink and treats.
The two day Italian extravaganza kicks off on Friday 16 November with an outdoor authentic Italian Market. Enjoy the tastes and aromas of fine Italian foods brought into town by Italia in Piazza including speciality dishes, Prosciutto, olives and oils, pasta and cheeses as well as sweet treats include torte cake and nougat. You’ll find the green, white and red stalls conveniently located at Spring Garden car park (next to Cascades swimming pool), open from 9.00 am to 4 pm.
Saturday 17 November brings Flavours of Italy into the high street. Inside the Town Hall you will find an array of Italian themed produce, gifts and festive treats beautifully displayed to tempt even the most discerning shopper. A number of the indoor stalls are being run by local community groups including students from Tewkesbury School and members from the Guiding Association offering you a chance to pick up a bargain and help a good cause along the way.
As an added bonus, you’ll find Italian food and drink promotions throughout the town on both days – just look out for the green, white and red bunting and balloons to find participating outlets. Special promotions include Italian themed dishes and menus, speciality foods to take away, as well as gourmet coffees, beers and wines.
Don’t forget to enter the Italian themed Competition for a chance to win a hamper packed with goodies worth £50.00.

Tewkesbury Borough Council’s Lead Member for Economic Development and Promotion Cllr Dave Waters said: “This weekend will bring a vibrant buzz to Tewkesbury, with an authentic Italian twist. The event has had fantastic community support, with many local businesses, schools and organisations helping to make it a weekend to remember.

There will also be a wide range of special promotions throughout the town, as well as some real Italian food, drink and entertainment – it really is an event not to miss.”
The event is being organised by Discover Tewkesbury who wish to thank Italia in Piazza, Tewkesbury Borough Council and Tewkesbury Town Councils for their generous sponsorship.
