ENGLISH CANALS - a weekly, five-part course on Mondays
at Christ Church Hall, Malvern Road, Cheltenham

This course by the Workers' Educational Association charts the history of England's canals, with an emphasis on the West Country and Gloucestershire -- from their titanic creation and contribution to our economy, to their sad, ugly decline, and more recently their resurrection as a leisure resource. The tutor is a former Chartered Engineer and member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects.
