An eye-opening week in Africa
A LINK between a school in Tewkesbury and one in Africa is growing stronger.
Kathrynne Newcombe, a teacher at Tewkesbury School, recently returned from a trip to Zambia.
She spent time at Chifubu High School as it is linked with Tewkesbury School as part of the Global Citizen Partnership programme.
Mrs Newcombe said: "The staff in Chifubu were so welcoming and friendly and I felt at home very quickly.
"It was an eye-opening week in terms of the facilities that the school has compared to ours.
"We are very lucky."
She added that teachers there had classes of 80 to 90 children to deal with.
