Fire fighters rescue sheep from barbed wire

FIRE fighters had to rescue a sheep from a fence in Cheltenham yesterday.

A dog walker called Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service to a fence near Holmlea Farm on Springbank Road around 3.09pm.

A specialist animal rescue team from Gloucester North and Cheltenham West took 20 minutes to free the sheep.

It was trapped by its coat in a barbed wire, and its head was stuck in a normal wire link fence.
