Fire fighters rescue sheep from barbed wire
FIRE fighters had to rescue a sheep from a fence in Cheltenham yesterday.
A dog walker called Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service to a fence near Holmlea Farm on Springbank Road around 3.09pm.
A specialist animal rescue team from Gloucester North and Cheltenham West took 20 minutes to free the sheep.
It was trapped by its coat in a barbed wire, and its head was stuck in a normal wire link fence.

“Barbed wire is dreadful stuff. I've had a dog torn by it. This story shows that even farm animals suffer.”
