It's all to celebrate the arrival of the forest's first earth oven.

The first bread will be baked at dawn, then at 11.30am, forest verderer and Clearwell Caves freeminer Ray Wright will give the oven a traditional forest blessing.

Any coffee for £1.00 at Fab and Faded Antiques.

He'll recreate the historic schnowle recipe – food taken down the mines by miners in days gone by – before chefs create a sunset feast of locally-sourced meat, breads and veggie options cooked in the earth oven.

Adults are invited to take along their own dough to cook, or buy it from the cookery school.

Children will be given the chance to decorate their own friendship cookies, listen to storytellers, cook marshmallows over the fire pit and bake their own clay bowl as a reminder of their day.

Entertainment comes from fire jugglers and local musicians.

There will be a talk too from Earth Oven Project founder Danny Shmulevitch who lives in May Hill but has been working with Bedouin tribes in the Sinai for the past 25 years.

His project is aimed at reconnecting us and the food we eat with the earth and sun.

The day starts at 7am on Sunday at the Longhope Road site. It's free, though tickets to the sunset feast cost £10.
