'My garden has flooded for a year'.. action at last on blocked drain

A blocked drain which has caused the flooding of an 86-year-old Hardwicke man's garden since January could be cleared in the coming week.

Gloucestershire County Council have said they will be cutting through roots in the drain and carrying out a full survey on November 8.

Pensioner Ron Vaile, from Pound Lane, fears the flooding could reach his home during the winter months.

His son Richard said: "Let's hope this puts it all back in working order."
