In gear for 2,000-mile Europe road trip
THESE three men and this old banger have set themselves a challenge.
In the early hours of September 21, friends Jon Goodwin, Graham Charlton and Nik Dowdeswell, from Cheltenham, will be driving off in their 22-year-old blue Volvo, aiming to cross 10 countries in 10 days around Europe.

Jon Goodwin, 31, a financial controller for Cheltenham-based retailer Weird Fish, said: "To cut a long story short we have purchased an old Volvo estate for £285 which we will be driving over 2,000 miles in 10 days. We are aiming to raise a £1 for every one of those miles."
The money will go to Cheltenham-based Cobalt, a medical charity which helps people affected by cancer and other life-limiting conditions across Gloucestershire.

The men have given themselves a few rules to make it more fun.
They include decorating the car as a talking point, and not booking anywhere to stay along the route.
"We haven't got a set route, so that we can't get lost" added Jon.
