HAVE YOUR SAY: Term time holidays

Should parents be punished for taking their children out of school for holidays during term time?

A survey has revealed families are prepared to risk a fine for taking their children out of school because holidays are so much cheaper during term time.

In 2004 fines were introduced to deter parents from allowing children to miss school but the survey revealed 31% of parents admitted they would be organising family trips during school time before the end of the year to avoid the expense of the peak holiday season.

What do you think?

Are holiday companies ripping us off by hiking prices during school holidays or are they justified because there is increased demand?

Should parents stop whingeing and accept they have to pay a premium for holidays out of school term time or are they being unfairly penalised?
