A tea set would not be a normal purchase for the front man of a world famous rock band but Aerosmith singer Steve Tyler has got a taste for some of the Forest’s finest pottery.

Steve Tyler is the latest celebrity name to fall for the bright colours of Mary Rose Young’s pottery made in Parkend.

Last week the shop that carries Mary Rose’s pieces in Hawaii, “Fifi and Bootzie”, emailed with a very special order.

“Apparently he’s in Hawaii on a world tour” said spokesman James Young.

“Although on the Aerosmith website the world tour is down as cancelled, but whatever he walked into the store with his girlfriend Erin and decided to buy one tea set and specially order another to give as Christmas presents. Mary Rose has to make the other one quite quickly.”

Her other fans include royal Zara Philips, actors Demi Moore, Burt Reynolds, comedian Ruby Wax and former Black Sabbath bad boy Ozzy Osbourne.

Mary Rose’s pieces were also recently featured on the German version of “Come Dine with me” called “Das perfekte dinner”.

A hostess called Elisabeth served a sumptuous looking tuna dinner on Mary Rose’s Jewelled Dinner Plates.

“We’ve had a lot of enquiries from fans of the show” said Mary Rose Young.

“My jewelled range has always been particularly popular in Germany whilst here in my gallery those pieces don’t really get much attention. But Elisabeth was very enthusiastic, as usual she said that the plates were made by the English artist Mary Rose Young from London. For some reason people in Germany all assume that anything from England must come from London.”

Mary Rose Young’s Christmas exhibition starts this weekend, she will be featuring a new church candleholder for the festive table.

It will be open from 10.30am to 5pm seven days a week until December 23 at Oak House, Arthur’s Folly, Parkend.
