Interest growing in Echo's social club for senior citizens
SENIOR citizens are being encouraged to join the Echo's new social club for single people aged 65 and over.
Members of the group will meet at a pub in Cheltenham town centre on a weekday afternoon once a week.
The Echo is currently registering the names and phone numbers of interested people, with a view to arranging the first meeting.
So far around a dozen people have shown interest, including Alan Jones, from Churchdown.

The 74-year-old said: "I think it's a fantastic idea.
"I'm hoping to make a lot of new friends."
Mary Little, from Leckhampton, is also enthusiastic.
The 69-year-old said: "There is not an awful lot to do for the older generation, so a social club is a really good idea. I'm really looking forward to it."
