AWARD-WINNING comedian Al Murray will once again take on the persona of The Pub Landlord when his brand new show comes to Cheltenham this week.

Britain's most irrepressible innkeeper will be serving up his premier brew of ale-inspired acumen and bar-room buffoonery at The Everyman on Sunday night, kicking off a great new season of comedy at the theatre.

The Only Way Is Epic tour, which follows on from the success of the hugely popular, twice extended Barrel Of Fun tour, sees Al unleash his alter-ego in what promises to be a show of epic proportions.

Broken Britain may be staring into the bottom of an empty pint glass, but people don't need to lose hope - because Al Murray The Pub Landlord is back to fill it up again.

Al has been one of the UK's top comedians since breaking onto the scene in 2003 and is currently riding high after yet another hit TV show Compete For The Meat, shown on Dave, which saw teams battle it out to win the coveted prize of a frozen chicken.

His ITV series Al Murray's Happy Hour won him critical acclaim, and legions of fans, for his no nonsense treatment of his celebrity guests.

He is also one of the few stand-up comedians to be asked by ITV to perform two Audience With... shows.

Out of character, Al is the host of 7 Day Sunday, a weekly programme for BBC Radio 5 Live, which has just finished its third series.

Al's show on Sunday is a sell-out, but comedy fans can look forward to a great season of laughs at The Everyman this winter.

First-rate comedians and TV favourites Russell Kane, Chris Addison and Richard Herring are all planning to bring their new shows to the Cheltenham theatre next year.

All three funnymen are familiar faces, both on the stand-up circuit and on our screens.

Russell's BBC 3 show Live At The Electric has just been commissioned for another series, while Chris is a regular on Mock The Week.

Anyone keen to catch Al's The Only Way Is Epic tour can call The Everyman box office for returns on 01242 572573.

You can also catch him at Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre on Tuesday, October 2. For tickets, call 0844 871 3011.
