Empty homes to be brought back into use
EMPTY properties look set to be pressed back into service as new homes under a special initiative in the Five Valleys and Severn Vale.
With around 250 houses lying disused, the Stroud District Council has teamed up with housing group GreenSquare to turn some of them into rented accommodation.
The lure for owners and potential landlords was the income they would receive after improvements were carried out, said Coun Mattie Ross, the council's executive member for housing.
"Subject to survey, we will carry out work up to the value of £14,000," she said.
Sunday and Monday evenings £12.00 per head for an all inclusive meal with Indian and Thai cuisine (normal price £14.50).

The scheme for National Empty Homes Week is being funded with up to £300million from the Government to help stop the rot of empty homes.
Coun Ross said repaired homes would be rented to people on the council waiting list.
They would be professionally managed and maintained by partners GreenSquare.
Its development project manager Jamir Ali said: "We will investigate and survey empty homes to assess their condition and likely repair costs.
"If the work is fundable through this initiative we will employ and supervise a contractor and pay all associated repair costs to make it fit for a tenant to move in."
