Today, the Gloucestershire Echo launches the Your Town, Your Future campaign.

And thisisgloucestershire provides an opportunity for you to make your feelings known on the future of your town.

We are asking you to send in pictures in support of Your Town – Your Future in three different categories – preserve, change and improve.

And that sums up the message of Your Town – Your Future.

■ Preserve – Cheltenham is known as England's most complete Regency town and that must be protected at all costs.

■ Change – A town should never stand still. But what are the measures that will change Cheltenham for the better?

■ Improve – This should not just apply to Cheltenham's buildings, but to its facilities and society in equal measure.

Click here to email us your pictures.

You can also use the comment facility below to let us know what you think should be done to keep Cheltenham at the forefront of Gloucestershire - and south west - culture.

Your Town – Your Future gives you the opportunity to have your say. Will you take it?

“"Remove Royal Wells bus station and replace with garden and outside cafes" , said Gordon Hill.

Pretty idea but where would you put the bus station?”

“An ice rink for the teenagers. Cheltenham has long been promised this - The Black and White coach station site would be ideal!

Now we have shortsighted greedy people who want nothing more than to overpopulate the town, to swell the economy no doubt, calling for new homes to be built there.

While mass immigration is uncontrolled we will never solve our housing problems by building new homes - the more affordable homes are, the greater the temptation to people to come. Its simple supply and demand.”

“Cheltenham could do with some decent public toilets - visit the small towns in Wychavon to see good examples.”

“I would be great if, when the master plan is finalised, all the night entertainment, to-gether with take away food, accident and emergency treatment and police where all in one spot then the inocent visitor and towns folk, could stroll around town at night, free from hastle. this would alco free uo A&E at the Cheltenham Gen. Hospital.

“I agree with R Millington - Cheltenham is crying out for an arts centre - it's ridiculous that we have to travel to The Guildhall Gloucester or The Roses Theatre in Tewksbury to catch an independent or foreign film - there is an audience here in Cheltenham. Even a place the size of Pershore has an arts centre!
I used to dream of the Daffodil being the perfect venue for this (as it was once a beautiful theatre). More markets too please in The Suffolks - The street festival once a year is not enough - all the shops/businesses in this area would benefit from the increase in footfall a weekly/fortnightly market would bring. I've been told by traders that it's a right palaver getting the roads closed for this event - but this area is never traffic congested, it really lends itself for antiques/crafts/organic veg market (aka Notting Hill). Great for bringing community together and a kick in the teeth for the soul-less chain stores in town!”

“We need an arts centre, a dynamic space for arts and live music that really puts the town on the map as a creative and artistic town. Much is made of Cheltenham's commitment to the arts, but there is very little outside of the Festivals, which appeal to a very specific demographic and out-of-towners. What about the art students from the University, young people and community groups? How nice it would be to see a centre like the Axiom, but with proper investment from the council, for those of us who would like to see contemporary exhbitions, sip a capuccino in an arts cafe whilst listening to acoustic music!”

“Please shut off access to St Mary's church grounds from the High Street - by reinstating the original wrought iron gates.
This will have the effect of ensuring a quiet haven in the town centre at the same time as preventing the cheeseburger chavs from desecrating the graves with their fast food 'picnics' and associated litter.”

“Why not consider cycle taxis or pedicabs, which could take passengers to the new parks and lesiure failities planned.
Also there could be function rooms for all ages, included in a new Concert Hall. These could be hired out for weddings, childrens parties, social dancing (ballroom) etc”
