We just need one win – Newbery
REDMARLEY skipper Paul Newbery says his side are just one win away from getting out of trouble in the Gloucestershire Division.
Newbery's men are currently one place above the drop zone in the table and have picked up only one victory, against Bredon in May, from nine outings.
However, with a return fixture against Stone tomorrow giving them the chance to avenge last week's 36-run defeat against the same side, Newbery said they were on the verge of turning the corner.
"At the end of the day we are not panicking," he said.
"We think we will pick up some more wins in the second half of the season and hopefully get ourselves out of trouble.
"If we can get the one win then we will get some momentum, but we have Ali Watkins missing this week and apart from that there is not too much difference."
Stone will be strengthened by the return of four players to help boost their batting line-up.
Pete Lavis' side were already quite impressive last weekend when Dave Jones smacked 75, Darren Turl hit 59 and the skipper managed 44.
However, with Miles and Adam Palmer, Pete Booth and Andy Hall all coming back into contention, the chances look good of extending their winning run to four games.
The only bad news for them is that South African bowler Trevor Burley is missing.
"We will be stronger in the batting department but we will be a bowler down," said Lavis.
"But we did not really need to use the fifth bowler last week, so we should be all right.
"We beat Fairford and Painswick and then we beat Redmarley last week and if we win again this week then that will be four in a row."
