The incident occurred between 11.50am and 12.50pm while the 66-year-old female householder was in her back garden and her 70-year-old husband was out.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are asking that anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information about the incident contacts Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident 235 of August 26.
