3.43pm - Brace yourself for torrential rain
The Citizen's weather man Ian Thomas said Gloucestershire should brace itself for some heavy down pours in the coming days.
He said the rain is on its way due to an "unseasonal drop of low pressure across the Atlantic" heading in the county's direction.
"It is coming up across Gloucestershire and will stay with us for four to five days," Mr Thomas said.
"There will be a fair amount of rain and I would say there is a potential rainfall of between 25 to 40mm over the days."
It is also predicted strong winds of up to 40mph could blow through and residents are advised to check forecasts regularly.
Mr Thomas said: "It is an unusual Atlantic depression for this time of year and something we would usually see in January not July."
A spokeswoman for the Met Office confirmed Mr Thomas's predictions saying residents should expect the nasty conditions to last all weekend and up until Tuesday.
She said: "It looks like the rain will be quite persistent and there is also the possibility of some thunder as well. The temperatures will also drop to around 19 degrees."
