Mystery lights or a UFO?

PEOPLE were left stunned by the sight of 15 mysterious orange lights drifting over Cheltenham.

Late-night revellers, families and children spotted at the glowing lights above Charlton Kings between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday.

Sandra Lloyd, from Benhall, saw the lights at 10.45pm while driving along College Road after a meal out with family.

The 59-year-old said: "There were 12 bright lights that were moving and not making a sound. I thought they were or helicopters but they were too close and there was no sound. They certainly didn't look like lanterns.

"My daughter tried to take a picture with her mobile but it wouldn't come out."

Tom O'Loughlin, 14, from St Peter's Square, was cycling with some friends past St James' Street car park when they spotted them.

He said: "There was a formation of lights travelling across the sky.

"They were disappearing and then appearing again.

"I was quite scared. It's not something you see every day.

"We watched them for 15 minutes. There were loads of people in town watching them."
