SUN: 5pm - UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in crash

The motorcycle rider killed in a collision on a county road yesterday was from Rugby in Warwickshire, police have said.

 

The 39-year-old male rider of a Honda motorcycle was declared dead at the scene of the accident on the A429, two miles outside Cirencester, by emergency services who were called at 1.10pm yesterday.

 

The 50-year-old male driver of the green Isuzu, which is believed to have collided with the bike, was from Wooton-under-Edge and unhurt after the incident.

The road around the scene of the accident had to be washed down by firefighters and was closed until 9pm to allow police to investigate the accident.

 

Anyone with information regarding the incident should  contact police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident 319 of July 5.

In a separate incident a vehicle crashed into the central reservation of the northbound M5 motorway near to junction 11a today at around 4.50pm.

No one was injured in the accident and while traffic was static for a while only lane 3 remains closed and is epxected to be open once the barrier has been repaired.
