Democracy has spoken

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 08:00

I AM writing over the continued debate over the bandstand in Gloucester Park.

I cannot understand why Kay Powell and Coun Jeremy Hilton continue to pursue their aim of having the bandstand repaired.

Forgetting all other arguments about historical significance and other matters, it should be accepted by them that a democratic vote was taken as to the future of the existing bandstand and that the people voted for its removal and a new structure in its place.

It is time they put their banners away and accepted that democracy has spoken and the building should fall.
