My life in Gloucestershire: Claire Wright, Tewkesbury Borough Mayor
What's your favourite Gloucestershire day out?
I love Winchcombe and Cleeve Hill for the view. I love the wealth of history in Gloucestershire – walking on the Severn Ham and turning back to look at the beautiful town of Tewkesbury, dominated by the Abbey.
And your favourite place to eat out in the county?
My favourite place is the Farmers Arms at Apperley, but we also have some lovely restaurants in Tewkesbury.
Gents, come in to Earl's & Co and enjoy a haircut and finish, glass of whisky and a shoeshine for £18.50

What's the worst job you've ever had?
Filling ice lolly moulds in an ice cream dairy when I was 12.
Any unusual habits?
I have a passion for poetry and an intense dislike of ironing. Combining the two makes the task tolerable!
Who is your hero and why?
Sir David Attenborough. For decades he has brought nature and wildlife into our homes, right back in the days when we could only see wild animals in the zoo or circus.
What was the last film you watched?
The King's Speech. It was very moving with a little sense of humour.
First record you ever bought?
Something very romantic by Ella Fitzgerald. My husband proposed to me on our third date and this really said it all.
