Giles was involved in the opening goal on 16 minutes. His determined run from the left into the box was abruptly ended, resulting in a penalty. Thompson sent the keeper the wrong way.
Chalford were soon level following a mix-up in midfield between Gary Cornwall and Laurence Perkins.
However, the home side soon regained the lead with Giles scrambling the ball home after good work between Jonny Howley and Thompson down the right fed Ash Murray to cross.
Perkins made it 3-1 when he drilled home from close range following some good work by Jack Watts.
Then with half-time approaching a Chalford defender handled in the area and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
Thompson again sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 4-1.
The second half began as the first ended with Baros firmly on top and the referee awarded a third penalty when the same player handled in the box presenting Thompson with the chance for an unusual treble, which he duly took.
Top scorer Jones added the sixth when he headed home Danny Wright's corner on 70 minutes and then he got his second and the Baros seventh when he turned in the box and slotted in from 12 yards.
GALA WILTON RES 1 FC BAROMETRICS RES 0
BAROMETRICS Reserves put in a battling performance against the Cheltenham League Division Two leaders.
The hosts started well and created a number of early chances, although mainly from long-range shots.
The Barometrics slowly started to get back into the game and the middle three of Powell, Haynes and Haynes began to get closer to the Gala players.
Both sides cancelled each other out during the remainder of the first half and the half-time score of 0-0 left all to play for in the second half.
However, it didn't take long for the league leaders to exert their authority in the second half, and after a couple of neat touches split the Baros defence, an unerring shot hit the roof of the net. Baros did not give up and continued to battle for every ball, but Gala held on.
