EVESHAM United are in a rut that could threaten their Zamaretto Premier League survival after crashing to two defeats in a week.

Away reverses to Nuneaton Town and Oxford City leave the Robins precariously hanging just one point clear of a relegation dogfight.

Relegation now would be a body blow to the club, just as plans are under way to move back into their revamped stadium.

Evesham boss Paul West struggled to find points of optimism after the loss to Oxford City that kept up their disastrous league form of just one win since December.

He said: "We're on a run that is nothing short of horrendous.

"We've all got to stick together and we will work even harder for that elusive win.

"It's frustrating, I'm working over time to see if I can improve the side.

"The performances have not been that bad.

"We deserved something out of the Oxford game, we conceded two sloppy goals and didn't take our chances, overall we had the better opportunities in that game.

"We are right in it after we dropped a place following the Oxford defeat. "We're hoping that one win could turn our form and will come soon.

"It's not about the teams we're playing now, we have to concentrate on what we're doing for the remainder of the season. "

West's injury concerns continue with captain Steve Lutz, Danny Hodnett,Mark and Steve Hands still missing, but key defender Kevin Spencer returns after serving his three match ban.
