Cold Aston pupils to star in rugby DVD
Pupils at Cold Aston CofE primary, near Bourton-on-the-Water, are simply the best when it comes to rugby skills.
Out of all the schools in the country, they were selected to feature in an Rugby Football Union training DVD.
Cameras rolled as 56 pupils, from year one to six, demonstrated moves to show how the game is played.
They will be national role models when the DVD is launched next season in schools and clubs throughout the country.
Delighted headteacher David Warren said: "The RFU was looking for a group of children with the necessary skills and attitude to take part.
"Development officer Gary Townsend had been up and down the country and singled us out.
"He was very complimentary about the pupils, saying they were very well behaved, skilful and a pleasure to work with.
"Years five and six were also asked to do a bit more on the second day of filming, after their own sports day.
"The pupils really enjoyed their involvement, they're looking forward to seeing the DVD when it comes out and will each receive a copy."
One of the world's top rugby union referees, Cheltenham's Chris White, also made a visit to talk to pupils, staff and parents about his experiences officiating all over the world.
Mr Warren said: "Our pupils haven't just excelled in the sporting field, they've also done incredibly well in their SATs results."
