County Korfball is on the up
With the squad of 11 comprising largely of inexperienced players, this was the first time many would have competed in a high level national tournament.
Taking place over two days, Gloucestershire were up against 23 other counties, with many of them containing national and international players.
On day one they battled hard in a tough pool against Greater Manchester, London, Hampshire and Norfolk.
The resulting effort put in by the squad ensured that they would take part in the middle group of three on day two.
The day two games were always close affairs, with the county finishing their campaign with a tough match against a strong Wales team, who outscored Gloucestershire 11-5.
Gloucestershire finished up in a final placing of 16th. However, they were the second best squad in the South West region, finishing above Devon and Somerset.
