We are only playing well in patches

What did you think of the Aldershot Town draw?

The first half was difficult viewing. A lot of long balls were heaved up top giving our strikers no chance and bypassing our midfield, and Aldershot had that covered with ease.

In the second half we were like a different team and Kaid Mohamed's introduction gave us an impetus.

But we tried to play football, we passed the ball with purpose and outplayed our opponents.

I thought we would go on to win the game once we got the equaliser but Aldershot held firm and showed their physical prowess.

We can't find a way to break teams down who bully us.

What is lacking at the moment?

A cutting edge and a willingness to persist with playing the ball.

We have players who can pass the ball and we don't need to hit route one just because we now have two tall strikers.

They are not lethal in the air or strongly built so I think it's a wasteful game plan.

We must learn to take our chances, taking strikers out of the equation.

The rest of the team, barring Keith Lowe and Mohamed, are not chipping in with enough.

We are poor in the air from the midfield up and this must improve.

That spark from last season seems distant at the moment.

Sometimes you have to grind out results, but more often than not we are playing well only in patches and dropping points against lesser sides.

Would you like to see a more settled side, or team picked for specific games?

The strikers can't seem to form a settled partnership because they keep getting swapped.

Shaun Harrad scores a couple playing with Paul Benson and then he drops back to the bench. He should have started Saturday in place of Harrison.

I can't think of many successful teams who play with two 6ft strikers up front together.

Yates needs to start sticking with players and then perhaps consistency will follow.

How do you see the Accrington game going?

I can't see it being free-flowing football, but we should still try and play our game and I would expect us to get the win.
