Mindless vandals have wrecked three buses in less than a fortnight.

The £184,000 luxury Stagecoach Gold buses started running on service 10 from December 8.

But just days later the gold double deckers were attacked.

If the vandalism doesn't stop, Stagecoach is threatening to remove them from the service.

The buses were so badly vandalised that they have had to be withdrawn from service.

Staff and police are poring over CCTV footage in a bid to catch the vandals.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach West said: "We are all absolutely devastated by the behaviour of a few mindless idiots which unfortunately could impact on the vast majority of well behaved customers.

"If this vandalism does not cease immediately then we as a company will be left with no choice than to take these luxury vehicles off the road.

"This type of problem has not happened anywhere else where the Gold brand has been introduced and is not going to be allowed to happen in Gloucester.

"Stagecoach Gold is a reward for our loyal customers who continue to use our services on a regular basis.

"It is therefore such a shame that the actions of a few could have such a negative effect on so many people."

“agent006 is correct, searching the arcives I found this story about the 94 Gold bus, students urinating on the bus. http://tinyurl.com/c39swrk
Spud0 I agree, its time conductors were brought back, especially at busy times. I've noticed inspectors only a few times.”

“I recall in the past they had bus conductors, maybe time to bring them back?”

“This article is a huge 'fail'. The most basic information needed for a news story is 'what?', 'when?' and 'where?'. The information on 'what?' is sketchy, and there is no information on 'when?' or 'where?'

TiG, you need to start employing journalists who at least understand the basics of reporting.”

“They say this hasn't happened anywhere else on the Gold routes, but I distinctly remember an Echo story about seats being vandalised when the 94 was changed to Gold buses.”

“Cattle trucks with spittoons and tagging surfaces would be more fitting on the 10 I'm afraid.
I am a Brockworth resident and it doesn't surprise me at all.
I used this service recently when it was too icy to bike. It was too good to be true. I thought then "this cannot last".”

http://tinyurl.com/cco4hty It's a long route, with a lot of CCTV, or were they vandalised over night, at the depot?”

“@tombardier I know, "Staff and police are pouring over CCTV footage in a bid to catch the vandals."
my point being that they only need to search certain amounts of the CCTV that should narrow it down a little, then if they know these incidents happend say on the school run or on the night service just withdraw that gold service as opposed to the whole service, same for the night run.”
